An experienced graphics consultant as well, Lackey has lectured on graphic presentations to consultants, litigators and regulators, and authored expert opinion on the impact of visual evidence for a California District Court. Before joining Varinsky Associates he was a lead strategist for DOAR Litigation Consulting in New York and focused his consulting practice on securities litigation. At Varinsky Associates, Lackey has applied his expertise to a number of high stakes commercial, intellectual property and employment cases.

Dr. Lackey is a pioneer in developing trial consulting techniques for utilization in arbitrations, mock bench trials and arbitration consulting. He is an expert practitioner of moment-to-moment technology, also known as Perception Analyzer, in mock juries. This technology allows mock jurors to use handheld devices which provide clients with instantaneous juror reactions to evidence, witness testimony, opening statements and closing arguments.

Lackey received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His research has appeared in numerous publications, including Visual Studies, Cultural Studies: An Annual Reader, Journal of Family Violence and Teaching Sociology. He has more than a decade of teaching experience at the university level, has lectured on presentation strategy and has taught CLE courses on persuading the modern juror. Lackey is a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants.
